live plants with beardies

Hello,

Does anybody keep live plants in their beardie enclosure? I'm thinking about it, but am not too sure about it yet. I think it would spruce up the cage quite a bit. It would have to be a fairly sturdy, non-toxic plant. Also, a plant that the beardies didn't like the taste of would be great, so they weren't always eating it on me. Any recommendations? Thanks

Geoff

not trying to be rude in anyway but i really wouldn't attempt it. Your beardies will trample all over any plant you put in the cage, and i personally think it would be a waste of money. But if you really want to put plants in the cage i would stick with some type of succulant.

My mom currently has about 20-30 chicks and hens (type of succulent) ready for me that i wanted to use for my beardies but i quickly changed my mind, becuase they would be trampled, so they're going to my leos.

I'm with Jamie on the succulents, although like she said beardies might trample them. I have succulents all over my house and bedroom. They're great little plants that come in a ton of shapes and sizes, and some even flower. If I had any desert animals I'd use succulents in their cages. They are like cacti, in fact all cacti are succulents, but not all succulents are cacti. They do well in hot dry conditions...

Some common ones include jade plants, living stones (these are super neat looking, they look like stones), and aloe plants.

Do a google search on succulents and see what comes up.
