Poultry

Does anyone feed there large snakes poultry? are there any benefits to feeding this prey item, or is it a bad idea, i have read about it, and it seems vary double sided! any information would be appreciated!

In SE Asia, hobbyists primarily feed chicken to their retics and burms, as it is the only food source available. The snakes seem to do OK, but rabbits and rats are a far better source of nutrition, and are readily available here in Canada.

I think most people who have tried poultry will agree that the resulting feces has viscous texture and a sharper scent.

I have two albino burms and a few other snakes that i fed chicks to and they made a mess all over their tank about a week later......the smell was amazing too....rabbits are way easier to deal with....

0.1 frilled dragon,1.0 reg burm, 1.1 alb burm, 0.1 rock, 1.1 bci, 1.1 ball, 0.1 green vine snake, 0.1.2 sav, 0.0.1 salvator, 0.0.1 nile, 1.0 dumerils, 3.1 green iggy,1.2 cuban......etc.

feed pigs i have hd alot of sucsess with them and they have no feathers to make a mess.
