Need help with a snake

Ok this isnt about a boa but this is the only place I post. Their is a Ball python at the local pet store and it is in bad shape. Someone brought it in and I really want to help it because it makes me want to cry. I believe it has scale rot because from the mid section to the tail it looks like it is rust color most of its body and just looks bad and the snake is really skinny. Does anyone know something cheap I could do to help this snake. Trust me I hate local pet stores because of how the animals are treated but I love snakes so I want to help this one. I would really appreciate some help.

I have had BPs w/ scale rot. I used neosporin and betadine soaks, both applied daily. The rot was usually gone w/ the next shed.

If you are going to try and help the Ball python at the pet store, make sure if you intended to take it home, not to pay for it. Paying for it justifies to the pet store that it is ok for them to keep their animals in sub standard condition. Try and bartar with a store clerk and see if you can get it for free because of the horrible condition it is in.
