Can you narrow it down to the room you lost him in? Or is it open to your whole house? Best bet would be set up some basking spot. Throw a mouse in it and hope for the best. Otherwise look hard, even in the stupidest spots.

I dont find it humorous.......I find it irresponsible.

Search one room at a time, when done with a room, block it off.

When we have escaped ball pythons they usually turn up in one of our bathrooms. We also had one go to our basement ( we breed our rodents down there). Good luck finding your ball.

Irresponsible yes but these things happen. I keep my room door closed when I have my BP's or my Boa out. My room is escape proof so if the door is closed it narrows down any neccessary searching considerably. I hope that you recover your escapee and you gain a good lesson from all of this. Something about tearing your house apart looking desperately for a snake that kind of burns it's way into your memory.

If you loose your car keys what do you do? You look for them. Unless you have one of those toys that beep to let you know where you lost them lol. Snakes arnt much different because really the only thing you can do is look for him, setup a hidebox with rodent, also you could try some heat to bring him in.

try putting flour or something thats safe for him around the edges of your room, also don't forget to look up. I don't remember where it is but someone wrote an awesome post on finding lost snakes. It was either in the colubrid section or in general discussion.
And I agree with ptindy, put a basking spot somewhere with maybe a hide spot. Don't forget shoes, hats and anything that can be considered a hiding spot, from model cars to gloves.

Goodluck!

When my little guy got out I searched all day. My wife got home and we were both thankful that we couldn't dust behind the furniture. We found a trail and followed it to the escapee.

lost

put flour around the baseboards, put red light hotspot out, with a hide, bowl of water, turn your house heat up so he leaves his warm spot he is hiding in, i read in a few spots the following, take very fine thread tie it to a dead mouse tie the other end to a large piece of styro foam, snake eats mouse thread is in the snake and it cant head for small spaces because the styro follows him, my thoughts are if they can digest teeth and bones wiskers and hair a bit of thread should be nothing, if he tkaes the bait pick up your snake cut the thread, this may be a last resort step with the thread, you can buy organic thread that breaks down

If you can't pay the vet bills the answer is not another pet store ball that you are going to be told is healthy. What if it get's sick? How will you pay the vet bill then? Animals get sick, it's a fact of life. Whether it be a ball or a dog or a cat, it doesn't matter. If you can't pay vet bills it is highly irresponsible to assume the care of that animal. In other words if you can't afford to care for an animal if it gets sick then you shouldn't get it. It's just plain wrong. Animals don't ask to live with us and if you can't provide for their every need then buy an animal book, not an animal.
If you still want an animal but can't afford vet bills maybe get a gold fish.
My advice would be to start doing more reaserch now and then when you money situation improves then try it again.
Animals are not expandable, the attitude of "it's just a snake or just a cat" needs to change. I'm not saying that you have this attitude but you do have a sick snake on your hands and your answer is to the problem is to bring it back to the pet shop and let them deal with it because you can't afford to.
Why not go after them to pay the vet bill to clean up the sick animal they sold you instead of letting them just turn around and sell it to the next unexperienced person who walks through their doors.

i dont think that could have been said any better Trevor.

You made a commitment when you bought this snake, its your responsibility to keep it alive. If anything get it to the vet and once its doing well, then find someone who is responsible to take the snake.
