Pictus eggs.

Okay,
I have a few questions, I found 4 pictus eggs today in my terrarium and I allready have 2 that have been incubating for a month. All of the eggs have red veins in them so I know they are fertile. My questions are : The month old eggs have red veins in them but I cannot see a dark spot or a noticable clump of anything to indicate an embryo forming. I know pictus eggs are hard shelled and this question may sound stupid but should I expect them to get bigger as they develope like leopard gecko eggs? This is my first breeding attemt so my methods arent perfect and the temps were a little high at times about 86f. Would this kill the eggs? Also I am kind of impatient and I was candeling the eggs every week ( the first two) would this kill them?
Thanx for any help, I just feel kinda helpless right now lol, I wish I knew everything lol.

Congrats on the eggs! Which girl/s had them, do you know? Glad they are breedin for you!

None of the eggs I incubated grew at all, and the one that actually had a baby in it was the same size as a freshly laid egg. I wouldn't worry about having handled the eggs, as long as you keep them with the same side up and dont turn them over, as you could "drown" the embryo(sp?). Try to keep the temps a little lower if you can. Keep the humidity modest(so that you can see some condensation, but its not soaking in there) and keep the eggs off the humid substrate. HTH. When I had them, thats about all I knew, lol. Good luck and hope they hatch! I'd be interested in a baby from them if you get any too!

Soft shelled eggs grow as the embryo develops, but hard shelled eggs stay the same size - there's no 'stretch' in the hard shells. You might not see an obvious embryo in either type of egg. Sometimes I see nothing in an egg and the next day it hatches --- obviously something was growing inside The light you're using can make a difference in what you do or don't see, so don't worry about what might be missing inside. As long as you see blood vessels forming, the egg is fertile.
