How much does a 04 black back ball go for?
Is it worth it? Do balls still go thru those fasting phases?

There are nicer blacks than others. There are also genetic black backs too. Any ball with no pattern accross the spine can be called a black back but personally I would only buy one from a reputable dealer who is selling a proven gentic line of black back. You'll pay for that. If it's just Joe Shmoe selling a ball with a lot of black in it I wouldn't pay much more than I would for a normal.

How much would a nice norm 04 go for and how much would a legit black back go for?

No idea what they are going for in the US. My advice would be to check the websites of the biggest breeders first.
