Day to night (Big pics!)
I have seen some Irians with a bit of day to night color variance but this little man has caught us a bit by surprise! I sure hope he keeps us guessing. The first pic is of him chillin' in his hide earlier today and the second pic is from a few nights back. Hmmm? Thanks for looking.
Male het granite.
I wish he would stay this color!

Thanks guys!
This little guy shed out the night before we took the second pic. When I first had a look at him, I had to get Katie to make sure that my eyes weren't deceiving me. He's been doing this all week, some nights are lighter than others. It should be interesting to see how he turns out...

You guys need to put up a link to a Granite so people here can see the absolutely amazing stock they will produce in the future. These snakes hold some kick@ss genetics folks & are very nice irreguardless of the het granite factor. Mark

Thats awesome but what I'm really looking forward to is the babies. Sure am glad you're just down the road. Have you talked to Soeren or Oliver(I'm assuming that who you got them through) to see if thats a standard change for hets of if the full on granites do this...that would be way cool.

Derrick - It seems that the color change is normal for the bloodline of Irians that precision is producing. He has said that he has a line that has a more dramatic color change than this one. So it's not a granite trait, just some cool irians....

Its Kinda to bad it wasn't some sort of marker trait then you wouldnt have to deal with the 66% het issue in a couple of years. On the other hand The normals are going to be an excellent boost the the Canadian IJ stock which it really kinda needs IMO.
As far as the road goes its not so boring any more lots of nut job camp workers driving it. Can be a white knuckle affair on thursdays and sundays.

Derrick- It would be nice to have that kind of marker for the hets but we may hold a alot of the first clutch back anyways. If the snake gods are good to us over the next couple years we may get a granite but who knows.
I think that most of the IJ's out west originate from Henry or the Bergmans. But with the interest in IJ's growing every year we should have alot more bloodlines to choose from very soon.
