panther

Hi, have a 1.5 month ambanja...cage is 1x1x3....95 degrees at top and 80 degrees at 1 foot from the bottom...
IS THIS TOO HOT OR IS IT OK?

He still hangs near the top a lot of the time...is that because he dosn't know what is going on or he likes it??

Basking temp should be about 90 or so, 95 shouldn't be too bad as long as he can move around.

Ambient temp should be a range from 70 to 85.

Night time temps can get as low as 60.

Your temps sound ok. Like Brock mentioned a nightime drop is needed. I wouldn't go as low as 60 though. Ambanja is a warm region. You might want to try and shoot for nightime lows in the upper 60's to 70.

I wouldn't worry about it spending time at the top. This is a sign that he is comfortable around the warmer temps. Unless he is uncomfortable or chasing food I would be happy to see it in the top part of the cage.
