Large WDB

Got this in an email forward today. Email claimed it was 8’ and 90 pounds. Ha ha, any way it’s a very impressive specimen. Anyone have any idea of the origin?

Looks fake. LOl. Why would the snake let itself dangle by its upper neck? I cant see it wiggling the way it is in the pic either.....someone could'a pasted that image onto there, the guy could have a hotdog weiner on a stick or something, lol but they put the snake over it.

it's real, probably a little over 6 feet and about 10 to 12 pounds. they get that big, even bigger. just unusual. the wdb does not have a lot of body strength, they hage like that when held near the head or tail.

I think it is perspective of the camera. That could be a 6' stick he is holding up on.

Yeah i think BW is right, the perspective. Looks like the animal is on a long hook or stick closer to the camera then the man, giving the appearence of a large 8 footer. jason

Regardless of size, that snake is gonna need a visit to a reptile chiropractor after that photo shoot...no snake should be suspended by it's neck like that, but especially not a crotalid.

IT's all about the perspective. I agree that the snake is probably around 5-6 feet.

Well, I was bored, so I googled the image and found this one, which is sharper.

<img src="http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-11/507948/rattler.jpg" width=274 height=450>

I sat and stared at this pic for a pretty long time, and my conclusion is that its a fake. Just below the "hook" you can see an obvious crop and paste. It also looks like the head could have been pasted on so that it would be proportional to the body. Look at these pictures.

<img src="http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-11/507948/rattler1.jpg" width=396 height=343>
<br>
Notice that the while line on the left side of the snake ends where I drew the red line.
<br>
<img src="http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-11/507948/rattler2.jpg" width=396 height=343>

Other things I noticed were:

1. Where the dirt/grass line in the bg meets the snake, there is a dent, which could be where an eraser was used to isolate the snake in the photo.

2. Looking at the last half of the snake, its awfully flat, as if its laying on the ground.

3. Kind of a stretch, but the rattle is vertical which means that it is rattling. The way it looks gives it the appearance that it is laying on the ground.

Edit: I also think the guy is pasted into the picture. His clothes, hair, and face look like they've been pasted into the background. If you look at it closely, you can see what I mean.

Anyways, that's the result of my boredom.

Oh yeah, photoshopping is easy!

pretty sure its just some greazy, ******** hick with a rattler impaled through the neck. i can hardly see why anyone would photoshop a pic like that. the snake is not even that big. if you were going to photoshop a pic to try to impress people with the size of a snake youd probably use a pic of a bigger snake.
