snappy central americans

I recently purchased two C.A. Boas, from different breeders, at different times. Anyway, both are very bitey, and will strike without hestitation. Both are young, one a yearling, the other born 6-04. Is this just a characteristic of C.A.'s? All husbandry is well within norm's and they get fed weekly on the correct size rat . I'm disturbed by this, and committed to the snakes, so I need to know if I should always expect this, or can they be "re-trained" ? Thanks in advance.

I have a pair of Central's and for the most part their temperments are really good, but on occasion the male can have a bit of an attitude so i always have to be on my guard when feeding or handeling. Since your boas are still young they should grow out of it fairly soon if they are handeled regularly and have a chance to get used to you.

Thanks, Nick. I hope you're right. I'm the only one that isn't nervous about these guys, and the boyfriend is already on his last nerve with them. Patience is one of my strong points, but I really hate blood...
