I also can't wait to have my little Monika Lewinski grown to that size... Nice pic, your Dumeril seems pretty pale and nice looking!!! The question is, what's her age? My little dum is growing pretty fast and i just can't wait for her to get a healthy 6-7' +, hehe... I know they don't grow as fast as constrictors but do you think mine has a chance of reaching 6' within three years with a healthy feeding schedule???
phil.

Thanks again! I really have no idea of her weight???10lbs maybe more????
Phil- She is around 4 1/2 years old, we only feed her a couple times a month or less otherwise I bet she would get pretty fat. Dums seem to have a slow metabolism and don't need a ton of food. As for your little Monika it will depend on some factors such as how large her parents were and feeding schedule. It seems with dums that if you overfeed them they will tend to grow fatter and not longer, so keep a steady feeding regime and you'll have a big dum. It just might take longer than 3 years...

Actually, my feeding schedule for my dum is : as long as she's under 6 months old, i feed her every 5 days. When she'll be over 6 months ill feed every 7 days, when she's a year old i'll feed her every 9 days, a year and a half old will be feeding on 11 days and at two years old feeding on 14 days. What do you think about it? The only thing is that i would defenetly like it if she would take dead food...

Dum question here....
So, is 6-7' the average adult length for a dum? (sorry, not much of a boa person YET but I'm looking into them!)
Absolutely GORGEOUS snakes, guys!!!

I feed my adult females Dums a Colosal Rat every 2 weeks, my males are smaller 4-5FT and feed a lrg rat every 2 weeks.
I'd say average is 5-6FT, but can grow 7FT. I've even heard of 9 footers.

And for a full grown adult, do you continue to feed big rats, or do you move on to rabbits?
