This is the method that has worked for me and i choose to personally use it.

It's reccommended for day/night lighting should be: Summer 14 hours of light and 10 hours of night, then the Winter should be reversed 10 hours of day and 14 hours night, or some other breeders prefer to put them out the whole winter. I don't use the method of putting them out for the whole winter, i use the method of reducing light, heat and day/night light.

During the spring and fall times i slowly start to shorten the days until i acheive the right "light" schedule i need. I'll usually start off the first week or two taking only 15 mins of light away then the next few times it will be 30 mins, then up to 45 mins. I only take the time away ONCE a week until i hit the desired time. I also have timers so that helps me out, one of the greatest investments i made.

Temps i not to accurate on i live in a basement so for the summer i use 150 watt bulbs and that hits my temps perfect, 1-110 basking spot and 1-115 basking spot with the middle of the cage in the high 70's to low 80's, nighttime lows are mid 60's. Durning the winter i slowly make it down to a basking spots of maybe 90-95 and the rest of the cage in the 70's and night time temps in the low 50's.

Feeding i slowly cut it to maybe 1/4 to 1/2 of what the normally eat in the summer.

During the winter months when the temps have dropped my guys normally don't eat too much and mostly sleep, but i continue to offer then food and water, they just don't take to much.

I also wouldn't recommend putting any beardie into brumation that doesn't have a good body weight on them, because they will loose some weight durning brumation.

During the spring i make sure my female is eating her fare share with plenty of calcium and vitamins for the eggs she will have late spring or early summer.

Hope this helps some,

Jamie

I would say a basking spot of 95 for summer temps is too low. I would try a range of 105 to 115 for the basking spot, and depending on your beardie i would adjust the temps accordinally.

For example: Say you up your temp to 105 and he/she sits there for hours then the temp may not be hot enough, or if you have it at 115 and your beardie stays away or every time time he/she is in the basking spot he/she gapes, then you know it's too hot for him/her.

How long you keep them in brumation is up to you. I keep mine in brumation for about 2-3 months and it takes about 2 months to get them there and 2 months to get them out of it.
