Albino Burm found in New Brunswick

This was reported on our local news today, although I am not sure when it was actually found.

They were calling it a yellow python, stating that it was very rare and estimated it's value at approximately $5000!

Plus, they said it might be albino, but they were not sure.

I called the newsroom to correct them about their information, so hopefully they will clarify this tomorrow

This burm was only about 1 1/2 - 2 feet long, and was going to some sort of zoo or park if I recall correctly.

Any snake press in NB is bad press or so it seems. There is a guy from Grand Bay that had a great newspaper interview not too long ago and that helped but I think it's only a matter of time before someone loses a burm in this province and then we are all screwed. We are a small back woods province and people here are not used to be exposed to snakes and fear and bad info run wild in NB and when some thing bad happens we are going to be in for a rough time.

I am honestly not sure where it happened (which city, etc). It was such a short blurb on the news that they didn't even mention it.

It seemed that people were very curious about it, and were handling it with no problems (they put it into a cat carrier).

I think they mentioned that they thought it came from a neighboring out of province (maybe US?) city? I could be wrong.

Nothing negative about it, just more of a curiosity than anything. Hopefully no one will freak out about it
