start breeding?

Who has paired up their snakes this month, any action?
I introduced my Dums this week, one pair didn't waste any time in going at it. The other pair got off to a slow start, but was caught in the act a few minutes ago.

I introduced my BCI's and JCP's as well, but no action there. I'll seperate them tomorrow and try again in 2-3 weeks. Temps are still in the low to mid 80's here in FL.

It's still a bit early to start breeding them. Have you started cycling them yet?

I’ve never had to cycle in the way of dropping temps drastically.

My Dums usually get to work with the reduction of daylight hours from 12 down to 8, which I started last week. As well as the cut back on food, I began feeding smaller items in August as well as less frequent 2-3 weeks apart. My Dums go at it like clock work.

My BCI's will go at it usually once the temp gets a bit colder and once they digest their last feeding and aren't fed for a few weeks. I expect they will go at it around the second or third attempt, maybe in late October or November.

It's my first time breeding Pythons (JCP's), not sure if they will start during the cooler months or during the warm up of spring.

Look what I found when I got home this afternoon. My Dums have been at it a few times throughout this week.

Ryan,
We just began doing a slight cooling at night and fed last meals about a week ago. In another week we will cool a bit more and also in cool in the daytime. We have already paired an albino male with a het but no action yet but we expect things to pick up once the cooling starts and they haven't ate for a few weeks.

My BCI's are still locked, Dums have been on and off. I'll seperate my Dums tomorrow and leave the BCI's together till the male loses interest. I expect my JCP;s to become active either when the temps drop to the 70's or during the warm up.

Ryan, We now we have all of our boas paired and have seen some spurring from our male hypo with one of our nice normal girls. All the others must be waiting till things are actually cooled down.

We put our suriname pair and normale boa pair together a week ago. heat has been turned off from 7pm to 5:30am every night since then. I have not yet seen anything happen. I was wondering if someone can give me any advice on what else i can do to jump start them into breeding. lots of cuddling going on in the normal boa cage, but nothing in the suri cage (they stay seperated). So any advice what so ever would be a great help. Thanks.

Be patient, seperate them after about another week if they are not courting. Try again 2-3 weeks latter, maybe it's just timing. Some snakes don't go at it until the warm up period. What are your temps now? How old and what size are your snakes? It may help to add a fresh skin shed from another male or even trying another male. Are these snake proven, have they bred before?
