Close Call. Feeding Habbits?

Yesterday I fed my Savannah his adult mouse (I feed him 1 everyother day this week and the opposite week I feed him 2, 3 times a week.) Well yesterday after he ate his mouse I just sat in the room watching Alien Vs. Predator (bootleg ) and I looked over and saw him standing ontop of his hut, he reached down with his mouth and picked up a gooood sized rock, not the size of the mice i feed but still good sized. As soon as I saw him pick it up i was on my feet removing the weights from his cage, and scratching on the top hood luckily the startled him and he dropped it to see what i was doing. I wasnt too worried about him biting me although i knew he must've still been hungry but i reached right d own in front of him and took his rock along with 3 or 4 more i saw then proceeded to dig down to remove the rest. After I did that i got him out another mouse and fed it to him.

So do you guys think I should stick with the 2 mice 3 days a week? or 4 mice a week? He's 2 1/2 ft, and he definatly isn't lacking any size. He also still eats a few crickets a week and superworms when he manages to get them before they dig their way into the dirt, also eats an egg once a month to everyother month. I've feeding charts that fluxuate pretty badly from site to site anywhere from 3-8 mice a week at this size. What are any of your feeding habbits/

Rocks

I doubt your lizard was going to eat the rock.
My albig will gnaw on wood in the cage if it smells mouse.
I don't worry about Fluffy eating it.
Once he/she figures out it aint food, he tounge flicks it a few more times then goes on.
Your lizard probally smelled mouse and was just tasting it.

Hope so that will be a real pain if he has decided to swallow them in the past, but he has no chance of it again. I'd rather be safe than sorry and I dont think the rocks give him any benefits at the size they are anyways so I just got rid of them just in case.
