Hi,
I am very new to pythons. I have a snow corn and I'm thinking about getting a baby ball python. My mom is a little nervous about it though. She is afraid that it will grow so big that it will eat me! But I have been trying to explain how big they will get. I have not found an example on their width. So can you help me out and give me an example like the width of a bottle of water.
Also if you know any good places to buy or get info on ball pythons, or if you could give me some info that would be wonderful. Thanks

Check out the pinned thread in here and a good starter is The Ball Python Manual. My suggestion is to read the pinned caresheet and read the book together. That way, your both educating yourselves and learning together.

But to give you an idea, pending on sex P. regius gets around 3.5-5ft. Females can exceed 6, but its concidered rare IMO. An adult would approx be as thick as a coke can for exp in girth.

BTW, when my male exscaped, my mom was convinced to would eat our cat! LOL! Although she prolly wouldn't mind if it tried to swallow me instead. Less she has to see frozen furry rats in the freezer.

Females will NOT exceed 6 feet, most of my adult balls barely get to 5 feet, most are in the 4.5-5 foot range.

Females can reach close to 6 feet, but its very very rare. I know cause I've seen one 5 ft 8in. Big female, lol. It also mentions the lengths in the BP Manual even tho some don't trust book, seeing how part of the book was done by the Barkers, I'll take thair word over most.

Humans can reach 7+ feet to but very few do.
