i just got done with my melamine enclosure for my boa and i only have one problem. right now i have one incandescent bulb for her to bask in but i cant figure out a good way to shield it from her so she wont get burned. any ideas?
also, do BCI's like to climb a lot? should i put branches in her new tank or will hides and a water bowl be all she needs for furniture?
there are comercially made "cages" for light bulbs, built for exactly this purpose. if you cannot find one, you mad try building one yourself, perhaps out of mesh. just make sure there are no exposed sharp corners. i use light bulb cages made of rubber coated wire, held together with rubber tipped s-hooks, for easy lightbulb changing.
