Cycling Males and Females BPs

Hey, i'm actually planning to breed my 1.3 kg female this year and i was just wondering what i should do to get her cycled right... This summer, im getting her to eat tons and tons to get some fat then what? I have to cool her down during fall, then put a male with her in january before i get the temperature even lower??? I would also like to know what kind of cycle do the males have to go through to get their sperm super-active???

phil.

You don't have to cool her, you just have to lower your hot spot temps during the winter by about 5oF and make sure you use day and night time drops. I forget what the temps need to be for day and night time drops, but I recommened buying Dr. Mark Seward's Ball Python Breeding, I bought it and it really covers allot of information that you need to know before you start breeding your Ball pythons.

Leave the day temps EXACTLY as they are. Don't touch 'em. Assuming your room doesn't go lower than about 65, turn the heat OFF at night for 12 hours and turn it back on in the morning. Heat off at night around the beginning of October, and on again beginning of April. I start to introduce my males immediately and consistently for the entire time. I remove the males to feed. I would second Vengeance's thoughts on buying the video, it's wonderful and will teach you everything you'll need to know.

You can get it from Dr. Seward's website at http://www.drseward.com or you can purchase it from Dan & Colette Sutherland at http://www.ballpython.com

People do it both ways. It doesn't really matter.

Phil, if you're looking for a mature male ball python, send me an email or a PM.
