Electricity bill??

just curious how much does it cost if 2 150W heat lamps will cost a month. I just made 2 custom made tanks and im gonna put heat pads on the floor and a single bulb on the top.

thanks this will help alot cuz my dad thinks it'll increase the bill big time.

300 watts total, 24 hours a day is 7.2 kw hours / day, or about 220 kw hours / month. At $0.10 / kw hour that would be $22 / month. You probably pay less than $0.10 / kw hour.

you could probably get away with 75w bulbs pending the animal, or else heat pads...which run about 10 watts

150watts, X 2 = 300 watts/hr. X 24 = 7200watts/day OR 7.2 kWh

7200w X 30 days = 216000 watts OR 216 kWh/mnth.

Hydro One, Ontario's electricity provider charges $0.047 per kWh for the first 750 kWh/month and $0.055 for kWh after 750.

216 kWh/mnth. X $0.047 = $10.15

That's assuming you're running these lights 24 hours a day forever.
