2 quick questions
I have 2 quick questions,
1. does anybody keep their cresteds in a main room where there are frequently people moving about, television and other household noise? do they stress due to too much commotion?
I just moved my collection downstairs as I was beginning to worry about the temps in my room on hot days. I had a few days above 85F and I am sure there are hotter ones to come.
the basement is not an option for me as all in the house are students, and the basement serves as one roomies enclosure... ahem, I mean bedroom. so the living room was really my only option.
2. Does anyone know where to get the large tubs (1 pound I think) of CGD? I have enough animals now that the small jars are becoming a nuisance.
thanks,
adam and the rhacs

As for the noise in the room, as long as they keep eating and arnt getting lethargic or anything, they should be fine. Keep a VEry close eye on them and make sure they are all eating aswell as drinking.

I've got cresties in the living room which is in use till midnight or later every day, dining room which can be lit just as late, and upstairs hallway which is dark except when someone's walking through there in the evening. The living and dining room groups are exposed to TV noise, light, music and conversation. None of the cresties show any signs of being bothered by it all. There's no difference in behaviour or breeding frequency between the 'undisturbed' ones in the hallway and the others.

I keep my cresties in my room and thats were I spend most of my time and they're doing great. I also want to buy CGD in the 1 pound tubs. I tried asking around to different suppliers in the U.S. to ship down to Canada but apparently there would be a problem with it crossing the border.
The Rhac book is great. The pics are insane!!!

Not sure why the suppliers would have problems shipping to Canada. There's nothing in the Rhac diets to warrant seizure from customs. Probably more of a case of them being unsure of the rules with border closures due to the "mad cow" scare at the moment.
LLL in California has the 2 1/2 pound "breeder" size tubs of the diets, and they can ship to Canada. I just ordered both the crested and gargoyle diets about a month and a half ago. They have a good price on the tubs, but shipping is kinda expensive. I was going through one little can of gargoyle every week or two, so it was definitely worth it. I tried a few places here in Canada, but got the old "Let me find out from my suppliers" routine, and that was the last I ever heard from them. Oh well, LLL was very responsive and it only took a week to get to me.
New Rhac book is becoming the new "bible" for some gecko lovers. Tons of great info!! Pics aren't too shabby either!

You'll LOVE the book, I know i do!!!
I keep my little one in the living room with us (and we live in a basement) We have the TV on plus play lots of video games and when people are over it can get quite loud. Even though he/she is in a high traffic area he/she has been doing great. I think as long as it keeps eating and drinking everything should be fine, but if you notice it's not eating then i would move it to a low traffic area.
I recently purchased a 2.5 pound tub from i think it's called exotic scales (ran by the webkings), but either way it won't help cause i'm in the states.
