Calling all Canadians..
Particularly those who are in the Vancouver area.
This is totally not about reptiles of any kind, but I had some friends the other day tell me that there is a place in Vancouver dubbed Namsterdram (New Amsterdam) that is liberal with the same, er, thing, that Amsterdam in Holland is liberal about.
I was just wondering if this was a load of hooey, or if such place actually exists. Can anyone local fill me in?
Thanks =)

I've never heard of Namsterdam, but I know of several places in Vancouver like that.
Of course, why even bother... just pick some random back alley downtown and chances are there'll already be someone else back there who was thinking the same thing.
I for one use to do it all the time just walking around from place to place. The worst that could happen is you lose your baggy and get your "name written down" i.e. the cops will know whose stuff they yanked when they're smoking it themselves 15 minutes later and laughing about it.

Hahaha hhw- i wasnt really interested in a place to score so much as figuring out if my friend just makes up these random factoids. Namsterdam turned up nada on search engines, So I wanted to check with the locals and see if I could go back to him and tell him he is full of poo. I know its a little less stringent in Canada in general, So unless someone else says otherwise, im gonna assume Namseterdam is on the map somewhere near atlantis =)

I've never heard of "Namsterdam" but in the 6 years I lived in Vancouver, I've heard of it referred to as "Vansterdam" probably over 1000 times.

ooooh- so its one of these diluted things thats made its way to the southeastern us. Vansterdam sounds much cooler too! Ha! Now I get to best him with my inside scoop! Thanks for that tidbit Jeff! Maybe one of these days I will have to make a trip up there, and see if it lives up to that name.
Happy Day All!

Wait... I thought we were talking about cafes.
If it's just somewhere to buy or smoke, that's pretty much all of downtown or BC for that matter.
