Ephebopus Murinus ??????

I just got this little one and i was told that it was some kind of bird eater? But to me it looks more like a Ephebopus Murinus (Seleton Tarantula) What do you think

Picture is blurry, but there is no way it is an E. murinus

Brandon, not really, what I can say is that it is not E. murinus... saying what it is exactly could prove to be nearly impossible as there are dozens of theraphosids with this zebra like pattern on the legs...

But I will still take a guess if you want, and I would be leaning towards Lasiodorides striatus... but that is only a guess and do not take my word for reality...

I can also ID your softdrink can in the background as a Pepsi species, but I could be wrong! LOL

Take care

Martin

Emily, I am not familiar with Dragoon's pet names!LOL (even though she always makes sure she tells me what is the name chosen!LOL) But I think you think it is a Grammostola aureostriata... it does not look like it...

I still go with a Lasiodorides sp., looks like the femurs are bluish... could be an adult of what is commonly sold as Euathlus pulcherrimaklaasi in the North American pet trade...

In any case, a beauty... congrats

No Emily...Angel is an aureostriata, a "Golden Knee" I think they call them.
That is the same shade of yellow gold, but do you remember how long and silky her gold hair is? Do you remember me pointing out how long it was on her carapace, all swirled? And the long gold hairs cover her butt and fangs too (LOL- hairy teeth!! that always cracks me up!). The spider above is something else...

The owner had best look through Rick West's site, I think. Just like I went through the Scorpion Files to try and ID the scorp Gray gave me.

LOL, no way, I am not responsible for any given name (shame decending on me... just like the time you tried to make me say I had actually named one of my Ts... the H. triseriatus it was... what an insult! I think I am still having nightmares over that one!LOL)

I'm going to have to go with Lasiodorides striatus (Orange striped birdeater). I just picked up a female of that species myself June 20th. Been wanting one for almost 2 years. Great species.
