Middle of the road

I was certain that the 4x4 ahead of me had nailed this guy and I had seen a 4'+ beauty d.o.r. just minutes before,
so I was surprised when I reached him, that he was still quite alive -right in the middle of the road. Nice to see some still make it.

On the way out to the snake dens here in Manitoba, it is amazing how many dead snakes you see on the road. They've taken measures to force the snakes to cross the road through under-ground pipes, but there are still some who get nailed....

It used to be that you would see hundreds on the way out, now it's more like dozens.

over here (England) we never see snakes dead on the road, you guys are lucky to get to see them apart from being dead of coarse! nice pic
