RES rescue

i just had to get him. he is very old. not sure about 12" long 8" wide and has alot of shell scratches and a fairly good chunk out of the corner. he wasnt treated very well and underfed. just wondering ive never rescued a turtle and will the shell grow back? i wasnt really looking to get one. i just couldnt leave him. so if anyone is willing to take him thats awsome. but otherwise ill be taking care of him.

oh boy

well, based on size I'd guess you have a female, and also based on size I'd say you're gonna need a large tub to keep this girl in

the shell might show some improvement after several months with a good varied diet and proper light supplementation

I am also wondering, what exactly was your question?

It is about setting up an enclosure. As for the shell damage. If it is superficial, it will heal, but if it is down to the done, the bone will not heal and the scutes covering the bone will not grow over that.

You need a minimujm 100G tank or a pond with strong filtration.'

Cheers,
JJ
