M. boeleni-So close yet so far...

Our female boeleni laid a clutch of 12 eggs this morning. Unfortunately, they look to be infertile. I would normally be very discouraged to see such a clutch but with this species we were ecstatic. We are just one step closer to producing this very challenging snake. I can hardly wait for this time next year.

Best regards,

Craig Stewart

Well at least there is some good news even if they arent fertile. Hopefully she will go for you next year.

Holy cow!

Incubate them anyways, and cross your fingers.

Still, wowzers, congrats! Definitely high on both Sheila and my wishlist.

Nice work, nonetheless.

Like Ryan said, throw them in the incubator and hope for the best!

Congrats Craig.......fertile or not their aren't many people out their that can get a female boeleni to produce. Hopefully she gives you fertile eggs next year. How did that pic of us holding the male turn out?

Corey

Thanks!

Thanks to everyone that posted. Although after candling the eggs I was about 99.9% certain they were toast it's the 00.1%that always has you put them in the incubator. It is now 100% evident that they are infertile.

Fortunately boeleni have an insatiable appetite so it will not be difficult to get her back into premium breeding condition for this season and give it another shot.

I attached a pic of the couple young and in love. I can't say enough about this species. These are a magnificent snake and I am certain that anyone working with them would completely agree.

Corey-The pic with the male and us Roy has. He did e-mail it to me but I have since misplaced it. We should get him to send it again.

Thanks again!

Craig

Keep up the good work Craig! Next year!! Guys like you and Corey can and will breed anything you put your minds to.
Here's one of the pictures I took(with auto timer and tripod) of the 3 of us on the evening of our joint birthday dinner.
