How I got my GTP to stop hiding... NEVERMIND

Hello..
I had a GTP problem I think I just solved.. thought it might be useful..

I have a cage that has a lot of hiding spots, shelters, plants, etc...

My GTP went on the ground and hid before her shed.. she always does this.. But then AFTER her shed, she stayed hidden.

This went on for weeks and I tried TONS of different methods to get her arboreal again... none worked.. she just kept going back to her spot.

So, last night I tried a trick I use in my reef tanks. When fish dont get along cuz of territory, if you move their tank stuff around, it confuses them a bit and they re-adjust. So i did the same with my GTP enclosure.

Sure enough, it worked and she is perched again!

She is a very tame GTP.. I hold her a few times a week, she eats very well, and sheds great!!!

Nevermind.. she is in the same spot on the ground now, even though there is no cover there anymore....

Guess she just likes that spot?

Could be because that spot has the temps and humidity she needs most of the time?!

I wouldn't bother trying to MAKE you snake do ANYTHING. Just provide the proper environment and let your snake decide for itself where it "wants" to be.

Ever tried to make a snake sit still for a picture? They pretty much do what they want, when they want.

Yeah Tim is right.

I have also done much reading on Greg Maxwells forum and many of the "experts" there agree that as long as the animal is feeding, temps and humidity are correct, being on the ground is quite fine and nothing to worry about probably.
