There is another cheap route to this that doesnt involve a professional. There is a program called tide for the computer. Im not sure where you get it anymore..and i havent seen it in awhile but i would imagine its still out there? It was designed as an os remover. The nice thing about it is that it will help you back up, will help go through files so that you can pick and choose what you want backed up etc. Its really user friendly and anyone with even just a bit of pc knowledge can use this. Now personally i havent seen this program since about the windows 98 os....so perhaps its not even availabe anymore...or not for xp etc. But other then that...if your not really pc literate...i would agree, pay a pro...this way if stuff isnt backed up or there is further problems....you have some other actions you can take as a recourse.
