Hey Paul, She climbed it. she will actually spend LOTS of time inthat branch. She loves it. I had to lower it even because she managed somehow to climb OUT of her tank...

Very resourceful little bugger!!

I actually have never weighed them, I need to buy a scale that works in grams. As for age they are both sisters.. I belive they are about 10 months old.. I haven't measured them either...

I feed them everyday, crickets, dusted with Calcium every 2 to 3 feedings. And they have a calcium dish (ashtray) in the tank where I put mealies. That's it. now and then I may give them a silkworm but that is really rare, and they actually have only had 1 each since I owned them. Zipper is bigger than Freckles, but they both eat their fill and are healthy and happy. I can't complain.

Paul, The tails just grew with the body. Tonight I will get pics of the tails. Freckles tail is not that fat, Zipper's is a little bigger. As for your, being that she is gravid, and I remember you saying she was only 26 grams, any extra fat stores probably got used up when her body was creating the eggs. once she give birth (lays) you'll have to just feed her until she won't eat anymore, and I belive you said you only give mealies, well this is probably part of it too. although I know that mealies are used as a main staple by a lot of people, I would think crickets are maybe more fatening, although I couldn't say. All I know is they eat about 5-10 crix each a day and mealies as they want because I leave them inthe dish... After yours lays, try a really small pinkie... I did try that with mine, and they showed interest but wouldn't eat it...

paul ---> all of our gecko's (except for two and the babies) get kingworms as a staple......i read in the reptile magazine that mealies are very high in fat (and kingworms being almost the same have bulked up some of my leo's nicely one actually went from about 35 grams to 53 grams in about a month)......we have one gecko that has laid a whopping 6 eggs for us so far and looks like she may be developing her 7th and 8th eggs right now (she weighs about 28-30 grams, it varies each week) and in between egg layings she fattens up nicely (to about 35 grams before right before she lays, she also has a nice fat tail) and then after she lays them her tail shrinks again and it's back to square one.......did you breed yours on purpose? because most breeders wait till they're about 40-50 grams before breeding......ours was accidental as we were new and we were told that our late male was a female, and now we have two babies and three fertile eggs in the incubator......but just keep feeding her and giving her calcium as well as a moist hide and in time she will fatten up......also, i had heard that younger geckos that become gravid are usually stunted......i've noticed this with our little one and am not expecting her to get to average size......hope i kinda helped with your question......it's late and i don't even remember what i typed lol!

good luck with the eggs!
sheldon and tori

p.s. dark angel----> we used to have a tank with no lid and a plant like that in it and one of our geckos got out and was missing for four days! you may want to cover the cage in that spot with something just to be safe!

PLZ PLZ PLZ stop feeding your leos kingworms!!!!! they are fed hormones that stop them from maturing so that they keep growing which in turn can effect your leos sexual maturity age. If you want something big go for supers.
