Feeding baby Kenyan's
I was just wondering what everyone was doing to get baby Kenyan's to eat!!! My new boy is the most stubborn snake I have ever had!! If anyone has any suggestions that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Kara, young Kenyans are damn near impossible to get feeding on prekilled prey. I still have to give the young'uns live, because they just won't have it any other way, and I have tried every suggestion in the book.

Kara, are you saying he's not eating at all or just won't take F/T or prekilled?

I am feeding him live, that's what is so frustrating!!! I tried just leaving him in his home with them and that worked for the first time ( he ate one ), then I tried leaving him in a deli cup with them...didn't work, the box didn't work. So far not much luck. Any suggestions?

Make sure it's hot, about 90F and offer the food in a deli container with substrate completely covering the animal...then turn the lights out and leave it overnight.
Try a slightly larger pinky..Even know bigger prey might seem impossible, bigger prey produces more heat and that is part of the key to a strike.
Kenyans can eat surprisingly large meals.

So I have tried the deli cup and it was a no go. But I will try again in a few days. Hopefully it works!
