BABY!!!! + question

Yeah, I've got my first baby!! He hatch this morning. He is so cute !! I'll try to take some picture during the day.

My question is how long should I left him in the incubator??
My another question may sound very stupid but can I manipulate him?? when I will transfer him from the incubator to his new home can i touch him or he would be like really to stress.
And last question when will I know that he is ready to eat??

Congrats! It's really fun seeing your first babies hatch You can remove him from the incubator anytime. You shouldn't handle him too much, but you can pick him up to put him into his new home. How are you housing him? And your new little monster will be ready to eat after the first shed. usually about 5 days after hatching. You'll notice his colors getting quite dull over the next few days then suddenly he'll be bright again. That's when he's ready to eat. Again, congrats.

we will be housing him in half of a 5 gallons aquarium I'll go buy an UTH for him because i don't have any loose and that's it

Is it true that the first weeks the big problem is dehydration ?? Someone told me I sould wet the paper towel in the aquarium is that true??

No need to wet the towel or worry about dehydration. I've been breeding them for 5 years now and never had any problems. They should have a humid hide like the adults though. Just a small one is fine. Make sure the water dish is shallow enough for them to get into and out of very easily. I like to use the smallest size of green saucers that you place under plants. Any plant supply store will have them and they are only a few cents each. Other than that I think you have your bases covered!

One other thing to add to the little humid hide mentioned by Julie, if you are worried about dehydration or shedding toe problems, because of hide being smaller than the adults would be, just make sure to check that it stays moist more often.

They are very hardy so don't worry about stress. Have you heard him "scream" yet? They try to act all tough and menacing and they will actually scream at you! Sometimes all it takes is just looking at them or talking near them. Don't panic if you hear it

No s/he did not hiss or anything. I tought s/he was stress but when i got him out of is little bowl that he is in the picture I manipulated him and he was SO gentle.

When can I start to manipulate him ??

Your best bet is to wait until it doubles in size. Other than that you can put your hand into the cage and touch it gently, but shouldn't pick it up yet. They are kind of fragile at this age and if it should fall it could become seriously hurt. You wouldn't want to risk a broken leg or a dropped tail.
