help... damn TAPE!

as substrate I has put some newspaper taped down so they could get under it.
I had doublecheck it before putting them in but one managed to
get stuck on it. (tape probably didn't stuck well to the plastic bin)
I removed all newspaper and put plain loose Scott Towel in...

I couldn't remove all the tape, it really stuck to her skin.
I have tryed water no luck yet.
does it will just fall or should I go to a vet? it stuck to her belly

hmmm.... what kind of tape is it? I think that you should try to bathe him for bout 30 mins to an hour a couple times a day until the sticky stuff wears off so u can just take the tape off.

Thanks,
Ben

Try some oil.....maybe mineral or vegetable...it can help slide tape off. It looks like this tape needs to be removed a.s.a.p.

I would soak the lizard for like a half hour in warm water/oil then try sliding it off.

it was 1.5 inch wide tape, you know to tape box when shiping.
I thought it would stay tape to the bin, but seems not..
now, plain paper tower

She is sooooooo amazing looking. I hope this goes well. It seems like the soak is working.

A bit of rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip would do the trick.. Mineral oil will work too, as Marisa indicated.
This kind of thing happens all the time, but mostly with snakes.
Sticky tape should never be used in herp cages.
Duct tape is the worst.

if it is just plain clear packing tape, water (warm would be better) should unglue it. It doesn't stand up to well to moisture. Good luck.

hahaha yeah, I untaped about 60% of it... but some is DAMN stuck lol I rubbed some vegetal oil on the tape and on the "seam" so it could go between skin and tape.
vet told me to bath it and if it don't wanna go of, just let it like that, shed will remove it.
I'll try twice a day, warm bath, should be removed soon..

at least, I got the lesson, no more sticky damn tape in any animal enclosure..

try to dilute some mineral oil in water and hold the taped part in the water for 5-10 minutes.. that should work.. dont let him ingest to much of it though.
