I think I set up too many rats!
OMG! I think I set up too many rats! I set up two cages with 1.4 and yesterday they started popping all at once. I have rat pinkies everywhere! These girls are having big litters The smallest litter was 12 and the largest (when I stopped counting) was 17! I guess I could look at it this way..... if this keeps up, I can get rid of a lot of those stinky mice! LOL!
Anybody need any rats?

LOL!!! That tends to happen when you first set up colonies as all the females get knocked up at once and hence, deliver all at once.
Over time, I've noticed that the females have their litters at different times.
Enjoy the plentiful supplies!

I think I am going to try to switch everything over to rats, except for a few that won't get big enough for them. I really like working with the rats better than the mice, and they don't smell as bad! The only problem with rats that I can see , is keeping myself from getting attached to them.
