Bad things do come in three
Well it has been a very bad week for me. I use to hate seeing people vent or spill their guts on the forums, but I now I know why it does help one feel a little better at the time to get stuff off ones chest.
You see my 4 month old son JD we have been told may have cistic firbrosis ( spelling way off ) he is lossing weight and coughing up a lot of flem/fluid. So things are not to good while we try a few new things and have some tests done.
My grandfather had a medium heart attack last week, he is doing better but he is 84 so we are all worried.
This morning my mother calls and wants to take me out for coffee, we never do this so i'm curious. She then tells me that she has cancer in her lungs and we still need to find everything out but she says that it is not looking good.
What the *&% is a guy to do .
I'm about to go jump off a building or go down to southern alberta on a drive and maybe find a few rattlers and give em a kiss.
I know this has nothing to do with reptiles other then the fact i own way two many, so i am sorry, but i just needed to do something.
Thanks all

Rough news all around - nothing anyone can say will help ease what you are going through, but sometimes it just helps to share with others who have maybe been through similar experiences.
My thoughts are with you and your family - hoping things improve and that you find the strength you need to cope,

OUCH!
Any one of those things alone is really tough to deal with... All of it in such a short period of time must be overwhelming to say the least...
I really hope things turn around real soon for you and your family.
Hang in there,
Pixie

Just to add a little ray of Sun Shine to this post. CF, although a very bad disease is treatable. My brother who is now 21 has been living a very normal life with his CF. He is going to college, has a girlfriend, and wants kids. Your child can live a normal life with proper treatment, the down side of the story is that he most likely won't live past 40. But 40 years is still better then no years. If possible one thing I would suggest would be to move to Toronto if you can, The Hospital for Sick Kids is one of the leaders in treatment for CF and St. Michaels Hospital is the other leader in CF treatment for Adults. The combination of those two great hospitals have kept my brother in decent health for a long time. He is in and out of hospitals once or twice a year, but again it is a very treatable disease, so there is hope.

Wow, Dean, life has dealt you a crappy hand this time around. Don't let it get you down, we have all been there at least once, or we are about to be. There are plenty of good support services for people dealing with the stresses of family illness, and the comraderie of the reptile community is sure to help you along.
Try not to dwell on the hardships you have been facing as of late, I am sure there is a breeding project or a special acquisition that can add a little sunshine to your days.

Dude...sorry to hear about this stuff. Try to stay strong for your family. I know it's hard. My mother was diagnosed w/ Hodgkins Disease about 3 yrs ago and she fought long and hard, but sadly she passed away 2 weeks ago tomorrow. It's that hardest thing my family has ever been through. I miss her so much it hurts. You have long hard days ahead of you, I wish you the best and God Bless!!

Im so sorry to hear that. My hopes are with you!
I feel what your going through, I've had about 7-8 members of my family and 1 or 2 friends have things such as your happen in the past two years.
I think its better if you let it out and let people know. I find it helps me with some things.
All good wishes to you and your family!
