Therometre questions

wussup peepz... i got this thermetre here by "Thermor" that i bought from Home Outfitters and it has the temp and humid reading... i was juss wondering where the unit gets the humid readin from? the probe ( thats inside the tank ) or from the unit itself ( outside the tank ) because i want readings from inside the tank right? so if it reads it from the unite itself.. im screwed >_<
