UV

I've kept mine on just regular flourescent and have bred them with no UV. Even the babies never got UV light and they're fine. They dun seem to rely on UVB as much as other desert species.

"how can you give this skink a uv light when it spends 90% of the day under neath his sand?".........you hit the nail on the head there LL *S*.

I don't know how many years or how many generations that my silent partner has bred these things but they've never seen any UV, natural or artificial.

Yep! Roy was the one who told me that too. Take it from a guy who's been breeding them for 7yrs now.

it keeps coming up in every lizard forum i been to
there's always the two sides
yes you have to use uv bulbs and no they don't make a difference
me personaly i use them don't know if you have to or not but as the saying goes better safe than sorry
sorry though this rambling does'nt answer any of your questions
but you'll probably get ten different answers from ten different people so ion the long run it's youre choice but as i said i use em
