What to do in Toronot? Attractions?

Hey ..

I am comming down to TO for the day and intend on being a tourist with the girlfriend and child.. Just wondering if anyone know a few good places to go see..

So far I am thinking of the hockey hall of fame .. the cn tower .. Stupid shopping centers - know any good ones?

If u know any good places worth stopping at .. let me know

Science Centre, ROM, Ontario Place come to mind. Depending on how old 'and child' is, there's that farm/petting zoo ... can't think of the name right now, but my kids loved it. Someone can fill in the name, it just isn't coming to me right now.

Shopping on Queen St. is also good. You get a few of the standard stores (GAP, the body shop, Lush...), and then a lot of oddball ones. There's a cool candy store for the kid as well, and street vendors selling jewlery, carvings etc.

You can walk along Harbourfront, visit the ROM, the AGO, or the various shopping centers. The zoo is always fun, but far away from everything else.

If you are reffering to actually good shopping centers for your girlfriend to check out, but you think shopping is "stupid", I can't help you.

But if you are looking to see some cool stuff for sale, I enjoyed walking Queen and Young - as well as checking out the Dixie Mall -on Dixie and Dundass I think. A little bit out of the way, but the huge basement flea market, complete with dead animal parts for sale, tattooing and peircing and many hard to find or otherwise weird items for sale.

Eaton centre is the best mall downtown. The best shopping is on Queen st and there is also some decent shopping and food on the PATH.

i think Kensington Market is cool...lots of second hand shops and wierd stuff....its in Chinatown....Dundas and Spadina area (close to the good Queen St shopping areas)...its sort of a punk rocky alternative area...lots of creative shops...
Ryan...I almost forgot about Dixie Mall...maybe a bit out of the way for someone interested in visiting Toronto's downtown but the flea market is awesome...I've been going there ever since I was a kid!

Yve, I was gonna mention Chinatown also, but didn't know if that was the politically correct term for it or not.

I think I know the punk rocky place with the creative shops. There was a couple of T-shirt shops we checked out, and found a cool Pantera shirt I'd been looking for.

My best memory of T.O was being taken to a place I had looked at and wondered what it was. It was the Bovine Sex Club - Nix 2000 had their VIP party there - it was a major blast.

Got a funny story about the condem shack, but I'll keep that to myself. The Friendly Stranger was a cool stop as well.

My advice from a Saskatchewan person, dont check out the 401 or QEW - they suck, someone said it was fun!
