What to breed my Ghost to?

I'm wondering what I should breed my Ghost with. Here are some possibilities.
1. Snow het for hypo.
2. Hypo Motley.
3. Normal het for hypo, motley, lavender.
4. Lavender het for anery.

I'm thinking Hypo motley so that the F2 will give me Ghost motley.
What do you guys think?

Depends on what you want to get:

1) Snow het hypo x Ghost = Ghost het amel and Anery het amel and hypo

2) Hypo Motley x Ghost = Hypo het anery and motley

3) Normal het hypo, motley, lav x Ghost = Hypo het anery, het lav, het motley ; Normal het ghost, lavender, motley ; Hypo het anery and lavender ; Normal het ghost, lavender ; Hypo het anery and motley ; Normal het ghost and motley ; Hypo het anery ; and finally Normal het ghost

4) Lav het anery x Ghost = Anery het hypo and lavender ; Normal het ghost lavender

From these pairings I would suggest you to breed the ghost with the Normal het hypo, motley lavender. By keeping this batch back and breeding them back together you'll get yourself with lots of stuff, like ghost motley, anery motley, lavender motley, hypo motley, anery, hypo, motely, lavender, and all those with hets and all...I don't know...the chance might be small but it's a really nice diversity with all those morphs poping out from a batch of eggs...really nice toys to play with.

The second choice for me would either be the snow het hypo or the hypo motley (I prefer snow het hypo) since the snow het hypo could produce amazing looking coral snows.

But of course getting some ghost motleys are nice too~

So basically here are my choices
1) Normal het hypo, motley, lavender
2) Snow het hypo
3) Hypo Motley
4) Lavender het anery (since anery masks lavender it doesn't produce too much stuff in the F2s)

This is just my opinion though

Well Simon I could always use the normal het hypo, motley, lavender for clutch one and the snow het hypo for clutch two.

Agree with Simon - so much depends on what you like and want to produce, but if she were mine -

I would breed first to the hypo motley because I love ghost motleys - would choose to introduce the pattern first and in a breeding where I could be sure all the offspring were het. I wouldn't use the triple het male because I would have to keep back to many youngsters from that clutch - wouldn't be able to tell who was het for motley pattern. The F2 from the hypo motley breeding would give a decent chance of ghost motleys, lots of hypo motleys.

Second choice for me would be the snow het hypo as Simon says - for the coral snows you could get in the next generation. I wouldn't bother breeding her to the lavender - I would look to getting the lavender together with amel because of the potential for opals. Wonder what lavender snows - homozygous for lavender, amel and anery would be like??

True. The keeping back of all the normal hets would be great. But this is how you get all those gets from that pairing. So keeping them back isn't something much of a trouble. Since in a couple of years you'll know once you breed them to their siblings and find out. Its from what I think, worthwhile to keep back the whole clutch. In fact I have kept back many clutches before just to prove something out and get some 'interesting' snakes (not interesting anymore...but still...lol....that's the idea)

Lavender Snows. Well this has actually been bred to and actually came out already. The Lavender Snow looks just like a regular snow. You can't really even tell the difference if you just put them with a snow. Even side by side....lol...the reason for this is because the anery a gene masks the lavender gene.

In a way we look at the anery genes like this

Anery a (the regular anery)
Anery b (charcoal)
Anery c (Caramel)
Anery d (Lavender)

With this in mind bascailly anery a dominants all the anerys. So if a snake is actually homo for anery a, anery b or anery c or anery d, the animal will look just like a regular anery a.

So a lavender snow would look just like a snow. No difference at all.

That is why didn't think that breeding the ghost x lavender would produce anything THAT special (at least color wise)

Now I have the 3rd hypo gene (the lava hypo) I really would want to try and make some of those Lava Lavenders and Lava Snows out (whatever those names would be called, hopefully Joe Pierce will be able to produce these this year)

Anyway I agree with mary, those coral snows and ghost motleys are one of the best things to go with right now. But then I still like to have fun and produce all those different morphs out with the normal het hypo, motley, ghost~~
