need some verification

I was reading this link about russian tortoises and im pretty sure their very reliable from what ive seen but i was checking out some edible plants to give her a more varied diet and maybe plant some things in my own backyard even.

They said you can geed them aloe? How would i go about doing this, would i have to take out the inside part and just feed them the green or other way around or what?
