I believe there's a virus of sorts which will change URLs written in emails and online. I know it's caused problems on other websites (A kingsnake ad that had the URLs for the photographs changed and a signature link on Fauna) and led to some embarassment for the person who posted such (through no fault of their own).

Test for it... Email yourself a couple dozen times with a website URL or hyperlink, see if it gets changed at any point. Similarly create a number of website posts and watch for changing URLs. Then, in all likelyhood, get yourself a good anti-virus program.

Any idea what the name of this virus is? It might come in handy when trying to figure out the problem. It just seems strange for a virus to change URLs on a password protected site.

The only way i could see it happening is if someone has your PW.. Perhaps running a virus scan is your best bet to start with.. Hopefully you have one on your system that is all up to date.. If not, you can try this one http://housecall.antivirus.com Hopefully this will find the root of your problem.. If it's not virus related, try changing your PW, if the problem still happens, perhaps there is something Jeff can do, im not sure though..

Do you logout everytime you leave the site?
If you're using the cookies feature of the site and you don't actually logout, you can end up staying logged in and then anybody coming to this site on the same computer after you will be able to access your profile, etc., because they'll essentially be logged in under your name...if you're using public computers and not logging out, who knows...

This is a trojan that went around a few weeks back. it is still being weeded out.

Update your virus protection and run a scan and you will get rid of it.

This thing made a mess of a lot of peoples emails. It would mask emails so you thought it was from someone you knew. But yet it was the virus playing tricks.

I hate these viruses..............

Nope, it's impossible that any other person is using my computer.
I believe it can really be some virus. I'll try to do something about it. Thanks for the replies.

It's not a virus, its adaware. It installs on your computer. Goto www.download.com and download Adaware.... It will remove any of these programs.
