Unhappy Cant Find Rat Pups

I realy wanna switch my BP over to rats, hes my only snake right now so ordering 6 bucks worth of rat pups and than spending 35-40 bucks on shipping is a bit much. However no one near me sells the pup size. Hes 2 foot and as you may have remembered from a previous post of mine, turned down a 5 inch long rat that I believe he could have gotten down since it wasnt much thicker than he is. Well that was two weeks ago, last thursday I offered a F/T mouse, he didnt bother with it.So I skipped even trying to feed him on his regular feeding day (sunday) and I will try again this coming Sunday. That will make 21 days since his last meal, any suggestions for getting him going again? Try a small rat again? Try a mouse again since thats what he was used to eating?

If you can find the right size rat try scenting it with a mouse, if not then try a mouse again.

21 days without a meal is nothing, my male went 5 months without a meal and he was fine, and there are pepole on here whos balls have gone close to a year without feeding, so no need to worry to much yet..

your ball will eat when its ready..

Small, local pet stores usually breed their own rodents -- that's where you are going to want to look if you haven't already. We have tons of them around here.

You may have to kill it yourself, though, or you may want to try it live instead.

Dont try it live if it has already eaten F/T, you may have a tough time getting it back on F/T....

Sometimes offering live is the only trick (that works) to switching to rats.
