beth,

well actually these Ice Ghosts are actually ghosts. Just that it's a different kind of hypo gene.

Currently there are 3 existant hypo genes out there. There should be 5 in total (the last two are still in testing phase)

An Ice Ghost is a double homo Lava and Anery A.

Basic hypo genes = hypo a
Sunkiss Hypo Gene = hypo b
Lava Hypo Gene = hypo c
There are two more that are on the test right now
Ultra Hypo Gene = hypo d
Transluscent Hypo Gene = Hypo e

Jeff,

I just love taking close ups!
Especially the eyes of the snake!
Got to love close ups!

WOW!!! Beautiful snakes Simon. So if you bred these with a regular ghost, you'd get normals het for ghost and Ice ghost, or this the same allele?

Ken,

If you bred an ice ghost to a ghost you'll be getting anery het lava and hypo a~

I have no idea what a lava and a hypo a would come out to be...
I would assume that the regular hypo gene will mask the lava gene...but I really don't konw...I don't even know if this is done yet...

I have seen Lava Amels but I really don't know what a hypo a Lava would be~~

Great to see Simon - they look very interesting. You will have to post lots more photos as they mature so we can see the color development,

congrats,

mary

Thanks all!!
Katt,

The lava gene started to float up back in the 1992s. But then no know really knew what they were and was actually sold as a regular hypo. We didn't know that there were so many hypo genes. Then a few years passed and Rich Zuchowski has tried to breed the lavas with the regular hypos. Results? Well all were normal. So by doing this, we have found out a new hypo gene, now referred as to Lava.

From my knowledge these Lavas were found by Joe Pierce.

Sweet! They sure have dark eyes, eh? Is that typical with the morph?
