Spare wood, free time! underbed rack.
I just threw this puppy together in 45 minutes... its made out of chip board because i had some laying around so i guess im just going to put some polycrylic on the tops covering the rubbermaids and it should be sweet! turned out good for a 45 minutes job i like it.

I;d be afraid of my bed colapsing on my snakes...guess it just depends how often and how much the bed moves <G>
