Hi All.
Chase is about 5-6 months old right now and probably 16-18 inches long (I'll get an exact measurement later tonight) and about as big around as a standard pencil. Well... he took down TWO, yes TWO, fuzzy mice no problem! I was shocked that something SO tiny could even get his mouth around it! LOL. Well anyway... I think he's ready to move onto small mice, what do ya'll think?

EDIT: He's 16 inches long.

What's more important than length is girth. Basically the rule of 1-1 1/2 times the girth of the snake is the best thing to go on. Also, I usually feed several meals that consist of 2, before moving up to the next prey size.

If he poops after a few days of eating the large meal, he'd probably do fine to move up. I'd probably feed once a week to avoid overfeeding, and make sure the temps stay high enough on the warm end for digestion.

The temps are good and he's been pooping fine and digesting fine, so we'll see if he's ready to move to the next size.
