New?

I got a 3 month old beardie and I finally saw some at PETsMART at the same age. The one I have is a male and I'm looking to buy a female. How would I do this exactly. Like how would I introduce them...etc.

Your dragon is 3 months old and you can already sex him ?

Do you have a seperate tank for the newcomer? To start the introduction process, have the new dragon in quarentine for a minimum of 2 months.

You can introduce them, but shouldn't put them together until they are at minimum, 18months old. They will mate at a young age, and that is very detremental to their health

Yeah, how do you know it's a male at 3 months? Be sure to get as much info from the employees as you can. Ask for the person there who knows the most about the reptiles and you will get the most help. Be sure you get to see them eat first, too. Nothing against ****** at all, just general rules when buying from a pet store.

It is possible to sex a beardie at 3 months you have to me GOOD at it. The breeder i bought my 2 off of at 1 month old EASILY sexed mine and was right. Anyway....

Bichiraddict right they will need a quarentine time. Everyones different on this one it can be from 1-3 months, i personaly prefer 3. In this time watch for behavior and eating, also this would be a good time to get a fecal examed to ensure there are no parasites. You deff. don't want to put them together too early (if they are opposite sex) you can cause quite a bit of stress for the female along with possibly shorten her life span (breeding too soon) or she can become egg bound.

Okay I know you don't recommend buying from a petstore. Here me out k? The store just opened and the guy who works in the Rep department (I know him really well) owns 3 beardies. They've had the beardies in there a month and I've been to the petstore so many time they know me by name and face there. I've visited the beardies and they are healthy. They have been Vet checked.

Do I still need it quarintined?

p.s: He knoes Leo (my baby beardie) is a Male because he has sexed so many lizards. I mean he REALLY good. He's a lizard "geek". (He doesn't look like one though )

YES, don't always accept their word for it. To me, it doesn't matter what place/person the animal was aquired from i will still quarintine it. Why take that chance???
