Here's the deal:
Tank:
5gl for 1-2, 10gl 2-3, larger for more.
They require at least one hide and a humid hide, more the better.
They are from pakastan so more rocks/hiding places the better.
They love to hide.
Climbing plants/branches are also good but make sure there is a cover on the top of the tank.
Temperment:
They are nocturnal, and do not require direct UV.
They are VERY timid and do not enjoy handling. Unless you work with them everyday, they will not get better.
I didn't attempt to tame them more than they are and it takes a bit of encouragement for them to climb on my hand as they freeze whenever I enter the room.
If you are looking for a gecko that is friendly Vipers are not the best choice. They only way I get to see mine is if I stay very still and wait for them to come out, if they see me move they just cower with fear, kinda cute.
Food:
They are tiny so need tiny crickets. Pinheads are best, some websites tell you 1/4" will work buy I'm not going to try. I've also heard that they love freshly hatched mealworms and waxworms but have not tried that either.
Dust with Calcium/D3 every feeding in the first year. Every-other feeding after about a year old. They do require a high calcium intake during the first year as they grow fast, so an extra calcium dish is also recomended.
Temps sould be in the high 80's on the warm side and can drop to room temp on cool side.
Hope I didn't miss anything. If you have any more specific questions PM me and I'll see what I can do.
