Might be getting a corn snake

Hey, my friend has an amel (about 1.5 ft) that he can't care for anymore. I'm probably going to be taking it and I was wondering if caring for corns is pretty much universal throughout all morphs? And, if somebody could please post some links to some good care sheets, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Jeremy

yes, it sholdn't matter what color they are.

Just google it, "corn snake care sheets"

basic info though.

Have the cage set up and temps regulated BEFORE getting the snake

temps- 80-85 hot side 70-75 cool side

2 hides (some say they don't need it, if yours uses it's hides then just leave them there)

Humidity- I've had perfect shed in 22% humidity and in 44% humidity. So house/room humidity should be fine. If you feel the need to though spray the cage with a spray bottle when in shed.

and of course a water bowl.

Substrate-since it is from a friend you will want to use newspaper/paper towel for atleast 3 wks, to check for mites, and maybe have a fecal tested.
After that put it on anything you want (except cedar, pine or sand )

I personally use aspen shavings and my corn LOVES to tunnell through there.

and you might want to pick up "The Corn Snake Manual" by Kathy Love
