Meet my new blood:
I bought a female blood python today locally, and I snapped a couple quick shots of her. They aren't all that great because I wanted to leave her alone.
Does she look like a P.c.Brongersmai? That's what I bought her as, but I can not for the life of me tell the difference visually between a borneo and a red blood (unless the red blood is BRIGHT red). She has the black tail like most red bloods I've seen (whether or not that is a characteristic). She looks alittle skinny to me, but that will all change in time. Anyway, it didn't really matter to me what she was, I have just been looking for a TAME, healthy blood python baby. I finally found her. This is my first blood, and I'm really excited. If any of you have any tips or peices of knowledge you can throw my way, the more the better I say.
Thanks for looking,
Jennifer

Nice blood.
Good luck with her..
I cant believe all the people getting bloods, they seem like they are getting more popular by the day. I myself havent been to interested in them but they are starting to grow on me now..

I was the same way. They didn't really do anything for me except these past few months they were totally growing on me.
The obsession has begun...

New blood
That looks like a Sumatran Red Blood. I have one and was skinny at first also. Now she's really hefty! The Maylasian Red Bloods are usually "redder" and most often have a grey/silver or black head.
Typically, the Sumatran red bloods have a better disposition, although individuals vary...
The way to tell a Borgersmai is the large lip scales will go right up to the eye. On a borneo, there is a row of small scales separating the large lip scales from the eye..
Good Luck!

Awesome blood! Like many people here, I used to think bloods were quite unappealing. But they just grew on me, and kept growing on me, now I have 4 with a 5th on the way. They are actually one of my favorites now. Amazing how that happens.

I would LOVE in a couple years to get a T+ albino for her. They are SO extraordinary! One of the main reason I got her was because she was puppy tame, and I've seen some bloods lay down bites, and they're nothing I want anything to do with. But I guess since I own one, my time will come. But she is the sweetest thing.
Now, one question. When they get nervous, do they suck in their stomach? Mine does that. When I open her cage to check the temps, etc., she doesn't bite or hiss, but I see that she lays herself flat and lays completely motionless. Just thought that was kind of weird. Is it common for them to do something like that?

Yeah my blood does that too. All the time. He kinda puffs a bit then stays motionless and just looks at me with his evil eyes. LOL. Normal indeed. Unless mine is crazy too. HAHA.
Cheers, Ryan

Nice looking blood, I'm sure that once you get some food in her belly, she'll start to fatten up for you. Good luck with her.
