Hot room upgrade?

Hey all. I am getting ready to purchase some new caging for my venomous room and I was wondering what everyones recommendations are. At the moment I am thinking about Boaphile cages or Precision Caging cages. Do any of you use these? What are the pros and cons between these? For vipers? For elapids? What method of heating is the best to go with these particular designs? Any other recommendations?

Vision or Neodesha come to mind as very good and easily made locking. Temps I have found easy to regualte with the wattage of the light along with central air. as for species. What you getting hmmmmm

Right now I am mainly upgrading some of my specimens. I do have a nice pair of CB rhinos coming my way next week though. They are tiny little buggers though and should do well in shoe boxes. Speaking of getting new specimens....I have been looking for a young CB pair of O. hannah that are unrelated but from the exact same locality. Anybody have any leads?

I use almost exclusively Precision Caging for pitvipers. Never kept an elapid in one. Pics of my revamped Hot Room coming soon. 6 more Precisions on the way, to add to the other 16 or so.

I look forward to seeing your new setup, BW!

A couple of questions:

What method do you use to heat your Precisions?

What type of keyed locking system is used?

Well since all of my hots are native to A and have about the same requirements, this year i think I am just heating up the whole room But the Precisions are great for retaining heat! For the Large 4' cage, I have never had to use over a 40 watt bulb (even then it was on a dimmer). On most of my Precisions I have clear hasps that you can put a padlock on. I generally only use locks on the cages for programs since the Hot Room locks. But Precision is now offering Cam Locks on the cages built in.

I have yet to try them out. Precision is coming out with alot of new stuff. I am supposed to be recieving a prototype trapbox at some point.

Those cages are crap....... You are wasting your money Brian!!!!!! LOL, just kiddin....... Actually those are very good hot cages....... Alittle better than visions because there is no lip for little hots to hide under or on top of.......... I hade to modify the visions I keep neonates in by screwing a piece of wood into the gaps......... They can no longer hide out where I cant see them........... It is a pretty easy fix to that one problem with visions........ I might go with those precision next time I need a new cage.......
