I might soon be an active member in the chameleon section of ssnakess. Im not planning on getting a cham, but i went to the store yesterday with my mom and her friend, good family friend. She was so fascinated with all the lizards and stuff they had there and i showed her a chameleon and told her when i get some money and space ill get one, probably not for a couple years and in the car shes like im buying you one and im like no no i cant keep it, i dont have enough money to feed it, shes like ill buy you 1000 crix a month, ill buy you a tank, ill buy you the lizard ill get you everything i want you to have it, could you believe how nice she is...so im just like no no (in my head im liek YES YES!! ) so im gonna play the waiting game hehe..wish me luck!!

Will she supply you food for upwards of 4 years? Will she replace your UVB light every 6 months? I think that is a lot to expect from someone you don't even live with! If she's serious, I'd ask for a gift cert good for a year or more instead of having to call her up and say "hey, we're on a cricket strike and I need some money to buy some silkies..." Just something to consider.
Anyways, if it works out for you - that great!

Thats true..well really im gonna end up building a tankw iht my dad like i do for all my reptiles, and accessories i can buy..it would just be the lizard and crix once in a while really..and if she doesnt remember i can buy that week its not a big deal at all, but like id rather not get another lizard since i dont have unlimited money to spend but i figure if she will buy crix for me then why not. Its not gonna be like if she doesnt buy, i cant ya know
i see why you'd be concerned though

lol, wow i wish someone would pay for my chameleon's cage and crikets it would be nice for once Well i dont see the problem if you dont mind paying for the crikets sometimes i wouldnt see the problem. But what if your mom's good friend, stops paying for the crikets??? are you able to still keep it? you may never think it will happen but you never kno it might!. I can help you find some sites. if you know what chameleon your gonna get...and i would get the chameleon at the pet store, most is WC and i would suggest you find a breeder you go to the mississagua show??? well connie, is a great chameleon breeder, and if you need her e-mail/number PM me, but i beleive she only sells panther.
Good luck
