Since a bunch of us Edmontonians are going to be looking at this thread.. i've been in contact of the president of ERAS (Edmonton Reptile and Amphibian Society) and I have volunteered to run a forum for ERAS. It's up already but still being set up. There should be a link on the society website soon

Hopefully it will be a good place for local information much like the TARAS forums.
ssnakess.com is still definately going to be my main source for overall info of course.. Don't even want to think about the admin nightmare of a site this size

Good of you to volunteer. There is a Yahoo distribution list now but not many people participate. There is an ERAS forum here on Ssnakess, so you might actually be able to just develop it further and link to it from the ERAS web page, instead of setting up another one,

I have the forum software and database set up on my server for another forum I run anyhow.. it was just a matter of setting up another DB for it to run on. Easy stuff.. in fact it's already done
Just let's us do whatever we need to without worrying about having to rely on anyone else for access to member only areas and such. I didn't know about the Yahoo list actually. Email lists are a pain to find old stuff on anyhow I vastly prefer a forum format.
